SSH COVID-19 Update
We can’t wait to see you back on this ice. It is our understanding from the guidelines released by Governor Baker’s office that adults will not be allowed to engage in on ice activities until at least the week of July 4th. We expect to being offering games that Monday, 7/6, at the locations that are open at that time.
Below is a list of our expected reopening by location. As soon as we have final confirmation of a location’s opening we’ll release programming for that facility.

Thus far we’ve held off on speculating on what our reopening date will be until more concrete info became available. With Governor Baker’s four stage approach to reopening Massachusetts, we now have better guidance on when games will resume. At this time we expect early to mid-July for the return of our programming. Of course, the actual dates rely on the rinks that we offer programming at to be open. As of now, our best assessment of per-location reopening, based on currently available information at the top of this page.
Reopening is a fluid situation. As such, dates may move up or back. We’ll update this page as more information becomes available.
Once a location’s reopening date becomes definite, a few things will then happen. Season passes and NCH games will be posted, along with BYOT and season pass schedules for paused seasons. We’ll be in touch with those resuming their seasons and Unlimited Memberships at that time.
Unlimited Memberships and Payment Plans
Unlimited Memberships have been paused through 7/15/2020.
All payment plans for leagues and season passes at Phillips Academy have been canceled at this time due to the lengthy pause at that location.
Our date for resuming operations is still to be determined. The estimate at this point would be late May or early June, but that is continually being reevaluated as new data becomes available from public officials. We’ll share more concrete information as soon as it is available. Like you, we can’t wait to get back to playing hockey but we’re also willing to wait just a little longer if it means getting back on the ice safely and without the need for another pause in the future. We hope that you and your family remain healthy and are excited to see you out there again soon.
Unlimited Membership Renewals Pushed Another Month
Membership renewal charges have been delayed one more month and will charge again until 6/15. The amount charged on 6/15 will be for 6/15-7/14 membership month, minus any amount due back from paid membership time from 3/13 forward when games were not offered. This remains a target date and is subject to change based on when games resume.
Reminder on Season Pass and BYOT Installments Running
As a reminder, season pass and BYOT installments continue to be run as scheduled since they spread payments on a prior purchase/registration. However, if your ability to pay has changed due to unemployment please contact us.
Clarification on Recurring Payments
BYOT League and Season Pass payment plans: All active payment plans on season passes and BYOT leagues will continue to have their installments run as scheduled during the temporary suspension of operations due to COVID-19. This is due to payment plans being installments on past purchases, similar to payments on a credit card, rather than a subscription. If you have lost your job and cannot afford your installment(s), we’re here to help. Please contact the league office so that we can offer assistance.
Unlimited Membership dues: The Unlimited Membership is a monthly access membership and is on hold while we are unable to offer games.
Outstanding Payments: While operations are suspended we won’t be updating card info or rerunning failed installments. Any BYOT team who did not have their team payments split before the suspension of operations did not have their payment plans activated or final payments not charged. This mainly applies to teams in Brighton. Payment splits for those teams will occur after we resume operations.
What’ll happen to missed games?
Season Passes: Missed games on season passes will be added to the end of the season. Once we are operational again and know how many games were missed a new season end date will be set. The total amount of games in the season will remain the same as what was stated at registration.
BYOT Leagues: All active BYOT leagues have estimated end dates. Those dates will be pushed further out, with the new estimated end date known once we resume operations. All teams will have the same amount of games played in their season as expected. Any teams who did not yet have their payments split before the suspension of operations (Brighton leagues) will have those charged once we resume operations.
Unlimited Memberships: Once operations resume, we’ll calculate and issue a prorated credit for each member for the days in their paid membership that were
NCH Bookings: All NCH bookings for games that did not take place were refunded in March.
Tournaments: All tournament payments were refunded at the end of March.
Games: All games are still suspended until further notice, with a target date to resume as 5/4/2020. That date may move up or back depending on what is most appropriate and when we expect rinks to reopen. We’ll announce the reopen dates as soon as they are available. As previously noted, all missed games will be added to the end of schedules for BYOT and Standard Game Season Passes.
Unlimited Memberships: Membership renewal charges have been paused as of tomorrow, 3/28, and will not charge again until 5/15. The amount charged on 5/15 will be for 5/15-6/14 membership month, minus any amount due back from paid membership time from 3/13 forward when games were not offered. Resuming on 5/15 is a target date and is subject to change based on when games resume.
Tournaments: The 2020 Boston’s Best Tournament in Andover that was originally scheduled for 4/4 through 4/5, and the 2020 Boston’s Best Tournament in Quincy that was scheduled for 5/1 through 5/3 have both been cancelled. Deposits on both have been issued as of today. If it makes sense to offer a tournament once hockey resumes then we’ll reach back out to the teams that were registered.
Games: All games are suspended until further notice. We’ll announce reopen dates as soon as they are available. As previously noted, all missed games will be added to the end of schedules for BYOT and Standard Game Season Passes. Also, Unlimited Memberships will have an adjustment when the amount of time when games were unavailable is known.
Tournaments: The 2020 Boston’s Best Tournament in Andover that was originally scheduled for 4/4 through 4/5, has been postposed to May 9th and 10th. The 2020 Boston’s Best Tournament in Quincy is still on as scheduled as of now for May 1st through 3rd. These dates will be reevaluated approximately 4 weeks prior, and adjusted if needed.
As of today we are postponing the 2020 Boston’s Best Tournament in Andover that was originally scheduled for 4/4 through 4/5, by two weeks. The new dates for that location will be 4/18-4/19.
